It’s been a little minute, huh? You might be laughing at the “daily blog” part of the title since my last post was in September. (I know I’m laughing at it.)

Since March, with the introduction of COVID to America, setting goals has felt near impossible. I’m sure I’m not the only one. Simply living day-to-day is challenging enough, let alone thinking of the future— that myth. 2020 made me (and maybe some of you too) feel like there wasn’t a future to plan for.

November hit and all of a sudden I couldn’t stand the taste of “waiting and seeing” anymore; I wanted to have goals. Goals are like things to look forward to. But, perhaps even more importantly, they are motivators to live the life you want to live. Frankly, I’ve never been quite good at living my life; I’m much better at giving my time and talents to others to help them live their life. But I don’t want to be that way anymore. Prioritizing myself is not in my vocabulary, so bear with me as I learn.

This week has been an experimental one— playing with a new schedule and actual deadlines (which I am historically bad at setting for my writing).

To all the writing projects that I put on hold during COVID, I am returning my energy and attention. And it feels good!

Around January 4, I’ll post a list of all the pieces I plan to publish on this website throughout the month. You’ll know what to expect and I’ll hold myself accountable, no matter what the shit storm of 2021 brings. (Well, within reason… naturally if my partner or I catches COVID, then I may not be able to write coherently.)

Oh, by the way, do any of you have experience with feeding crows? I have some crows that live in my neighborhood and I’d like to make friends with them. I’ve seen some people online say that crows love hard-boiled eggs. Is that true? Because I don’t want to carry hard-boiled eggs in my pocket out to the empty lot where they hang out all for nothing if they don’t even like them. Any other snack suggestions that crows like?
