Yesterday, I posted my commentary on Eli N. Evans’ book, The Provincials: A Personal History of Jews in the South, wherein I explored the intersection of Jewishness and whiteness in America, particularly in the South. If you’re into Jewish history and/or if you’ve ever asked the question, “Are Jews with white skin considered white?”, then definitely go check it out.

Outside of writing, I’ve been watching a lot of the animated TV show “Harley Quinn”— highly recommend! The clear queerness between Harley and Poison Ivy from episode one… it’s divine. Having devoured both seasons probably 5-6 times by now (if not more), it still has me cracking up. I’m not even a DC fan, but I can’t get enough of this show. So if you’re looking for something fun to watch to lift your spirits and make you laugh, check out “Harley Quinn”.

Update on the crows: It’s been too cold the last few weeks and so I haven’t made contact with our feathered friends just yet. I go out every day, but I think the weather has been too blustery lately for the crows to fly. But I carry a little baggie of dry cat food in my pocket each time I go out, just in case! More to come.

What are y’all up to this January to stay sane despite the hours of darkness?
